Tanzanite is a relatively new gemstone, discovered in 1967. It's a blue-violet variety of the mineral zoisite and is found only in Tanzania. The gemstone is named after the country where it was discovered, and its popularization is due in part to Tiffany & Co., which developed a marketing campaign for the stone after its discovery.

Tanzanite is said to be a gemstone of transformation, helping those who wear it navigate major life changes gracefully and easily.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE

•Decide which finger the ring will be worn on.

•Take a string and wrap it around the base of your finger. Make sure it's snug but not too tight - you're aiming to replicate a ring fitting comfortably.

•Using the pen, make a mark where the string crosses over.

•Use the ruler to measure the marked length of string in mm.

•You now have the circumference of your finger.
