Ancient Roman inspired agate intaglio silver ring with granulation details.

The agate stone has been hand engraved by skilled artisans.

An engraved gem, is referred to as an intaglio. The engraving of gemstones was a major luxury art form in the Ancient world, and an important one in some later periods. The earliest engraved gems evolved from amulets on which gods as well as everyday images such as animals were carved. Gem engraving is a miniaturistic art form whereby designs are cut into or on the surface of a gem. The outstanding feature of this type of carving is the small scale of the art: gem engraving is done most often on a surface less than one inch in diameter.

  • Please note that the engravings of each agate stone will slightly vary from the ones on the photos.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR RING SIZE

•Decide which finger the ring will be worn on.

•Take a string and wrap it around the base of your finger. Make sure it's snug but not too tight - you're aiming to replicate a ring fitting comfortably.

•Using the pen, make a mark where the string crosses over.

•Use the ruler to measure the marked length of string in mm.

•You now have the circumference of your finger.
